The festival opening of the 67th edition of DOK Leipzig offers illuminating insights into the peculiarities of the film industry – while many are enthusiastic about it, others are unfamiliar with it. A field report by our DOK Spotter Wendel.
“For the Time Being” by Nele Dehnenkamp is a film that tells the story of Michelle’s fight for justice while her husband, Jemaine Archer, has been imprisoned for murder since 1998. Michelle firmly believes in his innocence. The film explores whether their bond is strong enough to withstand 22 years of separation.
“Vika” sounds like an intriguing documentary about an extraordinary woman defying stereotypes in her mid-80s as a DJane in Warsaw. The film, directed by Agnieszka Zwiefka, serves as an engaging entry into the DOK Festival, offering a glimpse into Vika’s unique life.
This year the Virtual Reality projects of DOK Neuland are shown under the titel: “No Chaos No Change”.
