“Music was no longer enough for me to express my emotions.”

In their film “Austroschwarz,” Mwita Mataro and Helmut Karner tell Mwita’s own story. He is an Austrian with Tanzanian roots. The film tells of everyday racism not only with documentary elements, but also with animated elements, taking viewers into the world of “Greenland.”

In an interview, DOK Spotter Gretel spoke with the two directors about their motivation and their collaboration, and asked them how the audience reacted.
