A hilly landscape, seemingly untouched, the wind whipping up the snow. In the midst of this silent nature stands a house, only the upper floors are visible. This actually large building seems almost powerless against the massive blanket of snow. And yet people try to control the element of snow. With several snow machines, they set to work to remove the 8-meter-high blanket of snow layer by layer, clearing the way for tourists. The film “Melt” focuses on life in snowy regions. Despite using few words and only making small references to climate change, director Nikolaus Geyrhalter succeeds in making people think.
