“I wanted to look behind his mask”

In the documentary film “Jedermann und Ich”, the filmmaker Katharina Pethke searches for the “real self” of the actor Phillip Hochmair.

Black and white photos and videos are enhanced by the director’s commentary, accompanied by conversations and heavy guitar riffs. She seeks answers to questions such as: What happens when a person forms an image of another person? What is your role in this? What does it actually mean to be yourself?
